GigBack
GigBack finds the developer files your Mac can rebuild — node_modules, DerivedData, package caches, old simulators — explains each one, and moves what you pick to the Trash. One purchase, no account, no network access. macOS 26 or later.

Frequently asked questions
The scan found much less than I expected. GigBack only lists items it can prove are recreatable, and only in folders you gave it access to. Check that your home folder is listed in Settings › Roots, and that you allowed Desktop, Documents and Downloads when macOS asked (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders › GigBack). Some categories, such as build outputs (dist, out, coverage), are off by default; turn them on in Settings › Rules.
I reclaimed space but my free space didn't change. Items go to the Trash by default. Space is freed when you empty the Trash in Finder, with Shift-Command-Delete or Finder's Empty button. GigBack cannot empty the Trash for you: a sandboxed Mac App Store app is not allowed to command Finder.
Why do Homebrew and Docker items only offer a command to copy? The Mac App Store version runs in Apple's sandbox, which doesn't allow starting Homebrew or Docker. Copy the command and run it in Terminal.
A simulator can't be selected. Simulators that are running (booted) are protected. Shut the simulator down and scan again.
Something shows up that I want to keep. Select it and click Exclude… in the inspector. Excluded paths are listed in Settings › Exclusions, where you can remove them again.
How do I get back something I removed? If it's still in the Trash, use Put Back in Finder. Otherwise the inspector showed the command that recreates it, such as npm install, uv sync or cargo build.
Does GigBack need an internet connection? No. It has no network access at all.
Reset the app
If GigBack behaves strangely, for example it keeps asking for your home folder, reset it to a fresh state. This removes its settings, folder access, last scan and history. It doesn't touch any of your files or anything in the Trash.
- Quit GigBack (GigBack › Quit GigBack, or Quit GigBack in the menu bar extra).
- In Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder…, enter
~/Library/Containers/and press Return. - Move the folder
com.gigback.GigBackto the Trash. - Open GigBack again. It starts with the welcome screen.
In Terminal the same reset is:

Tarama beklediğimden çok daha az şey buldu. GigBack yalnızca yeniden oluşturulabildiğini kanıtlayabildiği öğeleri, yalnızca erişim verdiğin klasörlerde listeler. Ev klasörünün Ayarlar › Kökler'de göründüğünü ve macOS sorduğunda Masaüstü, Belgeler ve İndirilenler'e izin verdiğini kontrol et (Sistem Ayarları › Gizlilik ve Güvenlik › Dosyalar ve Klasörler › GigBack). Yer açtım ama boş alanım değişmedi. Öğeler varsayılan olarak Çöp Sepeti'ne gider. Alan, Çöp Sepeti'ni Finder'da boşalttığında açılır: Shift-Command-Delete ile ya da Finder'ın Boşalt düğmesiyle.
