GigBack is a Mac app made by Furkan Alp Günay. This policy covers the app and this website.
The short version
GigBack collects no data. It has no network access, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no account. Nothing about you, your Mac or your files leaves your Mac through GigBack.
What the app reads
To find developer files, GigBack reads folder names, file sizes and modification dates inside the folders you give it access to (your home folder, and any other folder or disk you add). It reads the contents of a few small files only to recognise a project — for example it checks whether a package.json or Cargo.toml exists next to a folder. It does not read or upload your source code or documents.
What the app stores, and where
Everything GigBack keeps is stored locally in the app's own sandbox folder, ~/Library/Containers/com.gigback.GigBack:
- Folder access (bookmarks): a macOS security-scoped bookmark for each folder you chose, so you don't have to choose it again at every launch.
- Last scan (snapshot): the list of items found in your last scan, so the dashboard can show results right away. It contains file paths and sizes.
- History: the date, method (Trash or permanent deletion), item count and size per category of each reclaim. It does not store file paths.
- Settings: your choices, such as categories, exclusions and menu bar mode.
This data never leaves your Mac. Delete it at any time by quitting GigBack and deleting the folder above; see Support.
The app writes diagnostic messages to the macOS unified log on your Mac. File paths in those messages are marked private, so macOS redacts them. These logs stay on your Mac.
Network
The app has no network entitlement: the macOS sandbox does not let it connect to the internet. It makes no requests, including update checks. Updates come through the Mac App Store.
Apple
The Mac App Store handles purchases. If you chose to share analytics with app developers in macOS, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics under Apple's own privacy policy. We don't receive your name, e-mail address or any file information from Apple.

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts.

Uygulama tanılama mesajlarını Mac'indeki macOS birleşik günlüğüne yazar. Bu mesajlardaki dosya yolları gizli olarak işaretlidir, macOS onları gizler. Günlükler Mac'inde kalır.
Ağ
Uygulamanın ağ yetkisi (entitlement) yok: macOS sandbox'ı internete bağlanmasına izin vermez. Güncelleme kontrolü dahil hiçbir istek göndermez. Güncellemeler Mac App Store üzerinden gelir.
