Privacy
Séance does not collect any data. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. Nothing you record, capture or log is sent to the developer.
What stays on your device
- Investigation sessions, notes, EVP recordings, SLS photos and videos are stored inside the app on your iPhone until you share, export or delete them.
- Settings (sound, haptics, sensitivity, language) are stored on your device.
Permissions
- Microphone — for EVP recordings and to raise the Spirit Box word rate when you speak. Audio is never transcribed or uploaded.
- Camera — for the SLS Camera views and captures.
- Photos (add only) — only when you save a capture or a report card to your library.
- Motion sensors — magnetometer, barometer and accelerometer readings for the instruments.
- Location (optional) — only if you tap "Add location" when starting a session. One location fix is turned into a "Neighborhood, City" label by Apple's on-device geocoding service; the label is stored on your phone, coordinates are never stored or shared, and the developer never receives it.
Children
Séance is rated 12+ for mild horror themes, is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
